Eric Farnan

In addition to playing in the Firelands Symphony Orchestra, Eric Farnan holds the position of Ensemble Librarian at Oberlin College and Conservatory where he oversees sheet music preparation for the Oberlin Orchestra, Choir, Contemporary Music Ensemble and more. He maintains a team of student workers who train and assist in orchestra library operations during their time at Oberlin.

Mr. Farnan enjoys a varied career as a bass player and librarian and values the boarder of librarianship and musicality. He was noted as “essential to the success of the performance” by Cleveland Classical for a performance with Chamberfest Cleveland. Recently he has also been appointed Orchestra Librarian with the Cleveland Pops. He is active and in demand as a bass player and has previously been librarian at Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music, where he has performed during many summers on the double bass since 2009.
