PRINCIPAL VIOLA
Monica Reineck
Monica Reineck is a Sandusky native holding positions past and present with several professional regional orchestras including Lima, Adrian, Jackson, Ashland, and Ann Arbor Symphonies among others. She received her bachelor of music degree from The Juilliard School, and was fortunate enough to also attend Interlochen Arts Academy. Monica began learning the viola in the fourth grade through the wonderful strings program in Sandusky City Schools and then became a student and later teacher at Firelands Symphony School of Music. One of her first encounters with classical music was a children’s program performed by The Firelands Symphony, and because of that experience, Monica believes youth outreach programs are absolutely vital.
Monica is also a Licensed Massage Therapist. She resides in Sandusky with her husband and fur baby. She loves to read, play chess, host game nights, attend all kinds of live music events, visit museums, travel, and swim. She lists Oakland Cemetery and Big Island as two of Sandusky’s most beautiful areas, and feels so fortunate to live in such an amazing, diverse, and thriving community.
