Dylan Moffitt began his residency in Cleveland, OH with his studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music in 2004. While attending CIM, he was exposed to a variety of musical styles both within and outside of the classical music genre. Following immersions into the cultures of Brazil, Cuba, and South India, Dylan emerged with newfound inspiration and a unique perspective on music as a whole. As a result, he draws influence from many styles of music and sees a future building communities around the music that inspires him. Some years ago, thanks to the passion of Jody Chaffee and the Fireland Symphony board, the educational outreach program aptly named, “Drumming with Dylan,” was born and has successfully entered the classrooms of likely over 1,000 children over the past decade. In the future, Dylan hopes to continue building his samba school, Samba da Cidade, form and lead an orchestra, and live happily with his four cats in University Heights, OH.
